Next agreement on cooperation was signed between the Ombudsman Office and UNICEF Azerbaijan

Ombudsman E. Suleymanova recieved with UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan Edward Carwardine.

Views on the issues of social services addressed to children, training of personnel in this field, as well as priorities of future cooperation were discussed.

In the course of the meeting, the Ombudsman and UNICEF signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation for 2018-2019.

The actions to be implemented within the framework of the Agreement are based on the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of a Child, as well as recommendations submitted by respective UN treaty body and covers conduction of legal awareness work in communities, training of trainers working in this field, support to monitorings of National preventive Group (NPG) to be held in children’s facilities.

The Agreement will enable to monitor access of socially isolated children to quality services in their daily life, assess the needs of governmental bodies working in the field of child rights, law-enforcement bodies, and local executive bodies, and improve their capacities.
